    Jean De Groot received her Ph.D. in History of Science from Harvard University and was a Junior Fellow at Dumbarton Oaks Center for Byzantine Studies in Washington, D.C. She taught part-time in the School of Philosophy while her three children were young, before becoming a full-time member of the faculty in 1994. She served as associate dean of the School of Philosophy from 2000–2008. She is the President (2018–2019) of the American Catholic Philosophical Association.
