  • Nathaniel B. Taylor received his B.A. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 2015 and his Ph.D. in philosophy at Marquette University in 2022. His primary research interest is in the influence of the Persian philosopher and physician Ibn Sīnā (Latinized as Avicenna) on the metaphysics of Thomas Aquinas, especially Aquinas's much-disputed distinction between being and essence. Along with this and other matters most metaphysical, Nathaniel is interested in the history and philosophy of logic, philosophical theology, and the transmission of Greek philosophy through the late-antique commentators to the Arabic and Latin philosophical worlds. Born in Colorado but raised in Wisconsin, Nathaniel cheers on the Milwaukee Brewers with his wife and son from their home in Maryland.
